Yes they will be able to know you have a CDL. I was a police officer for four years. I have taken a leave of absence from the PD (currently contracting in Afghanistan). Every state's DMV is connected to NCIC, and it is updated regularly, meaning every Sat or Sun. Once you get a CDL your old DL number will be removed from the system. If you keep the old DL and attempt to pass it off as being your current license, you'll get caught because it will come back with a message that either says, "Invalid DL info" or "No record on file." They will then run your name and DOB in the database where your CDL will show up. If you have to have a breathalyzer to gauge your level of impairment before getting behind the wheel, I'd ask you to reconsider getting behind the wheel in the first place.

Ahh...now I understand why you go around trashing other drivers post....you're a ***** ex-police officer. You think that people really want to hear you going after people like the truckers you luved to give tickets too. Funny thing about officers like yourself...wanting everyone to respect your ex position, and no-one even gives a care.

Be sure to check my post for proper grammer..........
