GP, I don't like passing other trucks on the right because that side of the truck has much more of a blind spot. A lot of trucks also have little stickers that inform people to not pass on the right, if cars see us doing it to one another then they think it's perfectly ok to do it too. Heck, I try not to do it in my car also. Another problem is that you get about 3/4 of the way past that truck and instead of them letting off because your coming up to an on-ramp with slower traffic coming to let you merge over they hold you there and put you in a bad situation sometimes. I try to read what's going on, if I see a ramp is coming up with slow traffic coming on and I'm looking to pass a truck that's in the right lane, I will ease off and give them a hole to merge over into. I was also taught to never pass on the right in any vehicle

then there is the idiot 'newbie' I work with who does not move into the 'slower traffic' right lane going up a steep incline --because "I only have to move back to the left when the slow lane ends and they won't let me in..." (whine whine whine!!)

I yelled at him "slower traffic means you!!" but he won't listen to me.

I drove with trainers for several weeks when I was fresh out of truck school and I am so greatful to those guys!!
It sucks to have to work with inexperienced drivers who are whiners and think they know everything.

+1. My truck isn't exactly governed by the company, it's governed by its own self, it's a pulling truck not a highway truck that can leg it out but it can run 72. I normally run 65 also and have no issues hanging in the right lane till I need to move over to pass or dodge merging traffic. I don't need a truck that can run 80 on cruise. It does annoy me as I've said when I run up on a 62 mph drag race and can't go anywhere or come upon a middle lane Baptist running 60-62 AND an entrance ramp but having a truck that can leg it out, no thanks. I just get to those annoyances quicker and more often.

Slower trucks quit bothering me when I figured out the world didn't revolve around me.

It all works out at the end of the day anyway..

You know the old saying, Big trucks drive as fast as they can large cars drive as fast as they want to.

What's the rule for pulling a hill???

Just like any other place on the road, stay to the right most travel lane unless your passing.
