Hazmat driving outlook...

Although I have experience driving a street sweeper and driving dumptrucks around town, I have no OTR experience, other than the training I received in Tech. School. If I were to get my Hazmat license, would it be hard for me to find a job hauling fuel to/from convenient (or any other hazardous materials)?

Despite a very minor on-the-job backing incident 5 years ago, I have a clean MVR.

5 years old minor accident should not hurt you. You may need to put some time in OTR or regional to get some tractor trailer experience before being hirable to haul fuel it all depends.

I had my fingerprints taken last Monday the 27th of June. I go to the DMV this morning and my HazMat endrosement is on on there with a June 29 2016 expiration. So it looks like it took 2 days to get my fingerprints OK'ed. I have a current TWIC, so I don't know if that made it faster. I was amazed.

yeah driver that 5 year old accident should be OK.

The TWIC card did help immensely.......but still.....YOU ARE IN KALIFORNIA.....so it is shocking how quickly they did their job!!!

FYI.....I just renewed both my TX license with Tank & Haz-Mat and my TWIC........9 days total. BUT............$269 total !!!!!
