Old driver, looking for a new start

Want to know what companies would hire a driver who has been off the road for over 4 years?

A lot of em, but will make start over with a trainer like a noob...many carriers offer 'refresher courses' I would try and go into flatbed maybe so u can learn that while trying to ignore the 'trainer' with less driving experience than u...

If I had a truck, I would hire someone in a heartbeat.

Here is a kicker, i have been recently convicted of a felony. I do know it was wrong and i should of been elsewhere, what set me off was several factors: 1, losing my job after 9 months. 2, getting job interviews over 2 months after applying like a madman, within that 2 months is when i was convicted of the felony. The felony was reduced to a simple battery charge, but will still show up as a felony. The other person wasn't injured or bleeding, i did not intentionaly wanted to hurt him, both of us were in the wrong place. What had happened is funny, i threw hot coffee on him, as i stated, i was not intetionally trying to hurt him. I was stressed out from being laid off, then getting interview after interview 6 weeks after the incident i mentioned. I am owning up to my mistake, i have learned from it and i want to make money. I also have checked into this, some companies want the felony to be a minimum of 5 years old, others 10 years and the other companies do not want to talk to me. What can i do here, anyone with any ideas, please post?

Pretty much no legitimate company will touch you. I would suggest practicing the phrase "would you like fries with that" or a "hi welcome to Walmart."

There may be a few legit companies that may give me a chance after 5 years. Also, i do have 4 years of experience prior to this incident (April 2003 to Feburary 2007). I also have a good work history prior to this incident as well, i will not deny the fact to what i did was wrong.

You are not on trial here...like many said if you were convicted of a felony you may aswell look at a different career choice. This is an opportunity for you to start something fresh...maybe your own business..?

first question ask from companies is why you out of the road for 4 year. if you don't have right answer for this question than told them you are out off the road for 4 year. and there are many companies will give you jobs.
