Anyone know about FFE?

FFE has free driver training here in Ft. Worth, TX where I live. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience driving with them. I am going to go to their open house tomorrow.

Thanks,

I went and talked with them this morning. It seems like a good deal for non CDL guys like myself. He said they are getting applications from all over the country. In fact they get so many that they aren't able to go through all of them. This economy is very tight.

FFE or Any Other Entry Level Company

Your training isn't "free". You pay for it through lower pay and contracted work. Compare them with other reefer companies. You will also have to endure food warehouses with their infernal charges to the driver like "lumping" fees. What did the FFE recuiters say about that. You better understand you're a driver and not a warehouseman who'll be stacking pallets the way the food warehouse wants it.
Are there no community colleges in the Ft Worth, White Settlement or Azle area where the tuition is still covered by the Texas Workforce Commission? Check it out.
Before you go anywhere for CDL training, can you pass the DOT physical including drug screen? Pay for those yourself and you'll know.
BTW, what's you criminal background, can you pass that check too? BOL

I've heard nothing but bad about ffe! Call Conway truckload they have a terminal in Lancaster and train. When I went through their training I paid like $1400 for 4 week course and room and board at crowdee in neosho mo. No contract al we had to do was haul one load and they paid the rest of the schooling tab. NO CONTRACT! While driving with a trainer we were paid a fair mileage pay of .25cpm I believe. We got a raise immediately after training. There are a lot of better options in my book.

Now this sounds like a good deal.

It was the best deal I could find at the time I did a lot of research when I got into the industry. I didn't want a contract for several reasons. For one I had my cdl when I went to school. I had to do school for insurance purposes.
