gps laws
does anyone know if your company by law has to tell you that they have a gps tracking system in your truck?

Not that I've ever heard of. In fact, I doubt if any company would go so far as to even recommend one. The reason for this is that if you get what they say, follow a route that, say runs you under a low-clearance bridge, you could blame the company.

I think this driver wants to know if the company has to inform you that your being tracked by them. If they don't inform you, are they breaking a law then? As far as I know, they don't have to tell you jack. It's their truck, they can track it all they want without telling you. It's the same with a rental car, some if not all have tracking devices in them now, they know if you go out of state(which is an extra fee you must pay for.)

ok - i definitely read it wrong - lol
i agree ford - it's their truck. if they want to know where their equipment is at all times, that's their choice (which I agree with). same goes to o/o's leased on - they're still hauling freight under the carriers authority. |
Isn't the tracking already done via the QC? (assuming it is qc equipped)
