Doing a "good job"....
 

A while back, there was a poster who made a thread saying how a driver had fallen asleep, got into a wreck, then the investigation found that the driver had been caught with 4 fudged logbook entries. Said poster claimed that was a "good job" because most drivers fudge 5x as many.

So i figured i'd post a few pictures I took of more drivers doing a 'good job'. =)

Yeah. the other two must have been carring alot of speed, or had a super heavy load. I faded in the brakes, but the jack arse in front of me decided to brake harder, and my trailer stepped out. I feel bad for drivers who park their truck in the ditch, but then again i dont, because they are there because they didn't do something right. Whether it was a pre-trip not done, not looking far enough ahead, going too fast for conditions OR god forbid just parking the truck when you KNOW you should.

i'm sure this thread will tick a few off, but they cannot disagree i'm right.

There was the Hostess Bread truck in the ditch at the AR/MO stateline nb I-55 north of Blytheville AR...and the Averritt Express truck across the center guardrails at the exit 260 interchange (TA @ Earle) eastbound on I-40, west of Memphis, last friday morning (01-29-10). The Averitt unit was impressive....spanning the center ditch on both guard rails! :clap:

It took me a full 11 hours to get to Beaumont TX from Steele MO, instead of 9 1/2 hours. I woke up at 5am to freezing rain. Went back to sleep....got up at 9am to snow on top of the ice. Eased on down the road, admiring the handy work of others.

Yep...take it easy as you can when its icy/slushy

If you don't see spray coming off your tires in the mirror there is a good chance the road has frozen over.

Ice makes me nervous

Don't know how many times I've said it... Spray coming off your tires doesn't mean diddly... In many cases, it is entirely possible to have spray coming off the tires, and still have ice more than a half inch thick under the wet surface. That's the logic that takes any vehicle off the road as fast as they get on it. Even if the road is basically wet, next to a tree, or under an overpass, you can find enough ice to lose it. Water on top of a layer of ice is slick enough even a basketball can't stand up on it.

I have actually considered taking a job with a small outfit in right down in Fla ...that way odds are I will never get in Ice again.(they run southern region and occasional Texas.

Right now I run east to west coast.... thee weather sux out west in those hills..a wipe out due to ice could toss ones driving career right out the window. :(

After my debacle, speed in anything has become needless thing.

this guy passed me about 15 minutes before this happened, you cant really see it, but he took out 3 cars
