Sad deal. It's a wonder it didn't kill him.
It could have been a stray bullet, GMAN. Who knows, someone could have been trying to shoot somebody else.
You remember hearing about Jake Spoon in Ft. Smith? He shot at a man in a saloon, and the bullet went plum through the wall, and the dentist that was walking down the street caught the bullet.

:p

The driver and his passenger were both very lucky. It could have been a stray bullet, but I don't think it is likely due to where it happened. There are houses around the area where this happened. Most people don't use a 30-30 to kill someone unless they are in the military. They seem to use a handgun or shotgun. Hopefully, the police will find out where this bullet came from and make sure that it doesn't happen again.

The incident was supposed have occurred just north of the Freightliner dealer on that hill. He was northbound and according to news reports he was shot right around where those houses are seen just through the trees on the right hand side of the road.

If it had happened at the foot of the hill across from the rest area I could more understand that it could have been a stray bullet from a hunter. There is a large open field in that area and I have been hunting in that area myself, but that has been some years ago and there wasn't any development in there back then. Besides, no responsible hunter would shoot in the direction where he knows there are roads or people.

It'll go on his record as a Preventable. He should've seen the bullet in time to maneuver out of it's path.

 10-4 Malaki

And they'll throw in a SERVICE FAILURE for good measure.......to bad really though,he might have been a good guy,but since he worked/works for Swift he probably didn't have money to tip the waitress at the TS.

My worse paycheck with them was the week I pissed my DM off....again....and got enough miles to bring home 46 bucks and change....:pissedoff::argue:

Don't forget that since they had to send another driver to get his truck, they'll also charge him the recovery fees.
