Question?

I know i should be asking my company, but i would like to see if anyone know off hand. I was hired as a company driver in 6/08 and drove till 10/08. i had to take a leave of absence in 10/08 due to my military obligation over here in Iraq. I am still employed with my company. My question is , if i ever leave my company for another company do it counts as drive time or just being an employee for the company..

Question?

If you're asked how long you were employed. giving the time in years is probably OK. If you're asked for miles driven in that time, you may have to produce log books. BOL

On an application I would list it:

XYZ trucking 6/08 to 10/08

National Guard Deployment 10/08-whenever (just assuming you are in the Guard or list what ever service deployment)

XYZ trucking XXX-XXX (dates)

Breaking it up like that will show your next employer the reason for the break in active employment without any need for any more explanation.

Your trucking company may very well list your employment dates in a similar fashion.

Sitrep??? New one on me. Situation Representative???

You could send me about 3 of the women from there... I could put them to work here, and I wouldn't have to work anymore... Well, till the Obama Administration is half over... Then I'll have to work 2 jobs too... Maybe better send me about 6 of them....:cool:;)

You know

if you're driving heavy vehicles in Iraq id list that as trucking experience.

Any company that doesnt appreciate your service and give you a boost for it well.. why the hell would Anyone want to work for them?

I think once the economy turns around, if your company isnt garbage, theyre going to beg to have you back.

BTW thanks man. We all appreciate the sacrifices you're making and im just glad you have a job/skill to take care of you when you get home, a lot of guys dont. In ten years we'll see the homeless vets all over the streets with all sides of the political aisle pretending they dont see them and complaining they cant possibly afford to take care of them. Vets make great truckers.
