DOT Physical

I'm at a point where my Medical Card has expired and I need to take another DOT physical. I got the first physical out of state while I was at training to get my CDL. I'm not driving at the moment, but I plan to go back to driving in the near future and that is why I need to get this taken care of. My question is, can any doctor give you the DOT physical if you provide them the paperwork, or are there certain doctors you must see to have the DOT physical administered? If you can only get it done by certain doctors, what would be the best way to go about finding one who could give me the physical, rather than just randomly calling every doctor in town to see if they can? And if any doctor can give it, where would I get the paperwork from? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Call your family doctor and ask if he does them. If not, try the local clinics. I've gotten my physical at local doctors and they have the paperwork in the office.

Step 1. Print this form out

http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/documents/s...cal-Report.pdf

Step 2. Take it to your doctor. He CAN fill this out, but he does not have too.

Personally I use the same place that does my random drug testing. They are alot cheaper than even my co-pay for my regular Dr. 40 bucks for a DOT Physical.

Let us know what part of Pennseltuky you are in and I am sure someone here can steer you in the right direction.

Ok this may sound stupid but im new so when you go and get a DOT physical do they give you some sort of card that states youre good to drive for X amount of years or how does it go.

Search here: Home : Concentra Inc. for a location near you. Fast, cheap and convenient.

Or, just call the nearest trucking company and ask them what clininc they use. ;)

they give you a card that is good for 2 years unless you have some condition that warrants being rechecked sooner ie; high blood pressure, diabetes, etc, in that case, it may be good for one year or whatever period of time the doctor decides.

Check the link I posted above and at the bottom of that page is the card you carry for the two or less years.
