CB Antenna Mounting...
How long does it take to Mount a CB Antenna to the Mirror?? I'm thinking bout getting one because majority of our slip trucks has no antenna's or one and the CB is dead weak and i don't want to blow it... Only a few of our trucks have two antenna's and the way our guys drive i don't know if they are going to be there for long...
Any Suggestions?? |
GI JOES CB RADIO - Cb Antenna Vice Grip Mount
Get yourself one of these and a good antenna. I have used this site for years and it is great. You absolutly do not need two antennas. One good antenna, tuned correctly will outperform 2 any day. |
They don't take long at all to hook up Hawk.

well i'll take your advice Mr. Ford and Maryland... cause man i have a damn good radio and don't want to blow it....
But another Quick Question.. how could i run the wire?? through the side window pane?? |
The wing window, yeah, that's how mine comes in. Made a few wraps around the mirror bars on the way to the window and then came in thru there.

I use one antenna that is mounted to a vice grip and then mounted to a steel stud. The important thing is to get a good ground...make sure you get through the paint to steel. 18' of coax.
I have a Galaxie DX95T2 with a Monkey antenna....SWR's are set to 1 with full power. I have reached 23 miles while travelling in the high praire between Barstow and Hesperia...weather conditions and the other operators equipment will vary your attainable conversations. |
Whats kind of trucks i know in our columbias one of the mirror antennas is for the radio and the other is a for the coax for the cb... Either way tho hooking up ur own bracket to the mirror bracket and screwing in the antenna should take a few minutes. Find the best way to run the coax that will still alow u to open the door and not have all this extra coax hanging there.
