which company has the shortest commitment?

I'm new to this trucking business and i am not sure if trucking is my career. I am looking for a company that offers CDL training but has the shortest commitment(say 6month?!).....Also, i am from Boston. Any institute or community college here in MA that offer low cost CDL training? thanks!

CRST has an 8 month commitment. It used to be 6, but the last I read, they had bumped it. CRST is strictly team driving so keep that in mind also.

CFI / Conway Truckload used to have the shortest of them all... if you go through their subsidized training, go out with a finisher for 7,500 miles then pull your first load you are done with your commitment.

I don't expect this has changed in the past six months since I moved on (after 16 months driving with them) but it can't hurt to track down their phone number and give them a call.

You may want to check to see who runs near you. The larger carriers can probably get you home more frequently. Boston isn't the best area for freight. Some carriers avoid that area all together. If you can get your own CDL training you will have more options.
