Just received my approved for USA's school today, I will find out when I am to report to school tomorrow. Figured I would give everyone fare warning so they my clear out of any sidewalks or large malls.

Well, you can always get one of those bumper stickers that state;

"IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY I DRIVE, STAY OFF THE SIDEWALK!"

Thanks for the warning and Good Luck. You will do fine!

It might be a good idea to ask. One particular company I worked for (I won't say which one) got a case of the pissy pants because I put a small sticker depicting a CMB (Combat Medic Badge) on the venting window of the driver's side door. Now, had I secured one of those plaques (of the sort intended to fit into a license tag holder) to the grille of the truck with some zip ties, they wouldn't have cared. I didn't bother to waste my time trying to make sense of that.

Well I’ll be heading to school on the 18th for school for 3 weeks. I’ve been studying my but off and taking as many practice tests as I can get my hands on.

JeffTheTerrible I’ll have to try that license plate trick, but it will have to wait until after I get fairly comfortable with my ability to handle the truck. While not the biggest thing I’ve drove, definitely a lot less room for error and more for chaos.

How and why USA?
Just askn'
.....oh and good luck.

Wheels_USN 08-09-2008 03:44 AM

The how and the why for choosing USA is fairly simple, they were the only ones that gave me the time of day. Every other company I talked to ether said "They were going with another applicant.", didn't return my phone calls or my favorite refused me because I didn't have the type of discharge from the military that they liked. I have a general under honorable conditions but they would only except an honorable discharge. Combine all that with being unemployed for 4 months and well one has to take what they can when they can.

If it's not too personal, might I ask why you got a general, and what RE code did you get?

Wheels_USN 08-09-2008 01:34 PM

All I am comfortable with putting on the net is, I had family issues that required me to leave the service before my contract was up, and the best I could do was a general.

freebird 08-10-2008 04:04 AM

So have you straightened out your "famil issues?"
How will being gone over the road for weeks at a time play out?
How's your driving record?
Any criminal history?
Just seems like there may be some things missing if USA is all that would consider you.
Again....good luck!
