Ratio of loaded / empty miles with a tanker

Since all tanker companies that pay by the hour pay much less when pulling an empty, what is the average ratio of empty to loaded miles that one typically gets to run ? ( Ofcourse, this is not an issue for those drivers who are paid by the hour for everything that they do. )

not sure if this helps, but my company tends to bid out runs as a round trip to the terminal. so if the haul is 150 miles, they charge 300, and I get paid for every mile I drive.

For example, I got paid the full hub miles for taking an empty to the tank wash in Chicago.

BTW, this new company, running my ass off, but the pay is where its at.

What would really be sweet is getting paid to take an empty to a tank wash miles away, then going to a Blue Beacon, then home -- all in one day!

well, take out the blue beacon, and that's exactly what i did.
150 miles 1 way to the tank wash.

I have only been driving a few months with Superior Carriers. Some weeks I do dedicated runs out of my terminal. Those are out and back so 50% is empty. The system weeks its probably more like 70-30 loaded to unloaded. Thats because there is usually and extended empty run to get home or it would be less. I have only had one weekend that I wasn't home. If you stayed out in the system longer the percentage loaded would go up.

I haul milk for Ruan and get paid hourly the same rate empty and loaded.
