Well thanks alot for the info, I can recall, sitting in the cross bronx, on many occasions wishing I had a auto.

Automatic's
Ya been there done that & it is a Significant help, my Co has been getting 7.5 or so MPG due to use of this transmission. The main thing is with me anyway was you kinda have to have 1 foot on the brake & on foot on the Go peddle when backing, kinda like Power braking,In a way. Not to hard to get used to through. 8) :idea:
Smart Like Einstein Rich Like Donald Trump :wink: |
They do take some getting used to but after about an hour you ask yourself "why the heck haven't I been driving one of these the whole time?"
|
Drove one a bunch of years ago at Roehl.
Need the clutch to start and stop. Still, I like to shift on my own. |
Automatic = POS.

Ya - a company like USX with 10,000+ trucks doesn't believe in running trucks that can stay out of the shop...
|
Friend of mine works @ Fedex. He says the only thing he doesn't like is that they take off so slow it's hard to get across busy intersections. I've never had 1. Right now 3X9's,3X 10's, and 1 good ole 5 speed Mack.
|
I've driven 4 different trucks with auto's and thoroughly enjoyed them all. The only one I wasn't keen on was the "clutchless" one. Gimme a truck with an auto-shift and a clutch pedal and I'm a happy camper.
