company pay while being trained

ok a company agrees to train you as a possible company driver do they pay per hr. or per day?I had a few interviews and one company told us everyone gets $65.00 a day.How did you do? :?:

Trukrswyfe 02-29-2008 11:10 PM

Seems to me they pay the day or the mile as a trainee. But I'm no expert. Wait a few, some will come along better to answer.

Who have you talked to?

Uturn2001 02-29-2008 11:29 PM

Most companies I have seen pay either by the week or by the mile during OTJ training.

dle 02-29-2008 11:35 PM

like uturn says, some pay by the week a flat amount others pay by the mile.

ICS 03-01-2008 12:08 AM

I have seen one that said they paid by the day. I forgot who. but it didn't really mean anything because it said something like $65 a day up to $350 a week. So i guess that means if your trainer is home for 5 days and you are in a hotel you might not be getting paid for that time. Most pay per week.

all18wheels 03-01-2008 12:49 AM

company i work for paid me 200 a week for 2 weeks while i trained

my first load took me 2300 miles and 4 days to get there and paid me

yeah, 200 a week was bs, but the pay after training is unbeatable.
this company doesnt even hire new drivers, or train. like i said, i know some one.
i think the other guy was calling BS on the pay i make as a solo driver after training.

So the company that doesn't train, trained you and then pays 82 CPM.

BS.

all18wheels 03-01-2008 03:45 AM

o.k. you're right. i pull a dry van and make 27 CPM

CaliTrucker 03-02-2008 03:01 AM

LOL...if you would ask or read the other post all18 has going, you would know that he isn't pulling cheap dry van freight.

all18wheels 03-02-2008 01:05 PM

thank you, cali. i was being a smartass.
apparently some drivers out here dont believe that there are a few good, small outfits out there that pay really well. even for rookies.
