Laundry,food storage
How do truckers usually go about doing laundry while away from home for 7-14 days or more at a time?
I'm trying to formulate a basic travel plan to get an idea of what I can take with me while on the road and space for storing the following items inside the cab: -Changes of clothing for each climate condition. (freezing, hot, rainy,) -2 weeks worth of food: 5 jars of peanut butter/jelly,25 cans of black beans, green tea bags, 28 oranges,28 apples,8 bags of lettuce,28 tomatoes, tortilla wraps, microwave, water jugs (for coffee and green tea),method to clean things. -exercise gear (running shoes, clothing for exercise) |
Most major brand truckstops have laundry facilities... 10 days worth of clothes is plenty. Remember to present yourself in a clean and tidy manner.
You may need to hook up a 28 foot reefer for the supplies you want to take though.... |
Truckstops will generally have laundry facilities - overpriced ones. Sometimes you'll be able to find a plaza with a laundromat you can park in for a couple of hours that might not be quite as expensive, if you've got the time to kill. Same with grocery stores as far as restocking food, you'll be a lot better off than eating in the truckstops.

TEN DAYS worth of clothes??
Sooooo, in truckers terms, that would amount to: Blue Jeans - 1 pair. Sleeveless Undershirt - 1 Underwear - 1 pair Socks - 1 pair That should leave you PLENTY of room for food storeage!! |

Seriously? You are going to take all that fresh produce with you?? It ain't going to stay fresh though. I don't know any driver having that kind of food on the truck unless they go to Wal-Mart every 3 days? I drive team, we both have clothing for about 10 days and just 2 sweaters each and a winter coat each. We also have a fridge, microwave and dog on the truck and still have a little space left. It takes organization that's all
