Simple CB question EDITED

I'm tired of looking at the same old face of the cobra 29. Anyone know if there's a website that has different face plates to put on CB's?

New question is, I'm looking on ebay and see these cb's with different color meters and channel displays. Is this something that can be done at a normal cb shop, and do they normally have the different colors on hand? I want blue!!

I typed "cb faceplates" into google, got a whole bunch of sites, this was one of them:

Try the CB shop at the Petro in Kingdom City, Mo.
They used to have what your looking for!

A CB shop should be able to replace all the lights with blue ones except the channel display which is colored to begin with. They may be able to replace it but I doubt it.

Ok, can anyone confirm if the channel display can be changed or not?

That's going to require someone who likes a challenge. The display will have to be the same voltage and pin outs to match the existing one. I doubt if any CB shop is going to want to invest the time and research to replace it.

Your best bet would be to find a computer EE person to tackle the job.

Steve, check this out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll....cWAT.m240.lVI
It looks like it would just be a simple switch in & out, but anyone would know more than I do. I'm horrible with electronic stuff.

If it really is that tough though, I may just sell mine, and buy the ones they have on ebay with them blue LED's already in them.

That looks like it would do it but I'm guessing you don't have a prayer of doing it yourself. Soldering something like that takes a very experienced person. You could buy it, take the radio apart then find an experienced radio shop or EE person to do it. I would go that route but don't attempt it yourself.

Ok I'm new this trucking thing and was wondering what would be a good CB radio to get for the money starting out? And do I need anything to go with it?

I was looing at the website posted above(premiere-electronics.net) and I liked the Texas Ranger with the Viper Antenna, what do you think?
