Finally found home daily after 15 months with Schneider
 

A couple more weeks with the pumpkin and then I am going local.
I was starting to get frustrated because the local job search was turning up flat. I had a few interviews and sent out over 30 (yes 30) resumes and nothing came up. I finally stumbled across a company that just signed a big automtive contract and they have a lot of lanes over Ohio most of which are home daily/no touch freight/drop and hook. We will swap out trailers with Canadian drivers who will take the loaded trailers into Canada.

They required 1 year of OTR experience. They start moving freight at the end of March :lol:

Schneider treated me well, I just am not a fan of OTR. I learned alot from the 2 week training in Green Bay in 2006(both the first and second time I was there :roll: ). I learned a whole lot about trucking while I was with them for 15 months. It will be a different experience being able to park a tractor and come home everyday.

I know it isn't easy...been looking hard myself, for a couple years, now.
I was trying to get with our County Road Commission for 5 years,
and the last 3 years I was top of the waiting list, next in line for hire.
Then last fall they cut back, because Michigan is broke. Laid off
about half the crew...now my hopes are vanished.

Did you get along ok with the big shots there at Wintersville mohawk? I've heard a lot of bad things about the guy that runs that for Schneider on pumpkindriver.com. Is it possible to be off on the weekends with that account or is just off 2 days through the week??

I didnt work out of Wintersville, I ran several loads out of there and spent about 2 weeks at thier terminal in the middle of 2007. As far as Wintersville I dont think you get weekends off, you get 2 days off that go mon,tue then tue,wed then wed,thur etc. The place i am going to now is weekends off/home daily....I might have to work sun thru thursday.
