G.P.S

Could any of you guys share the G.P.S that you use(if any). Im trying to find a good one that wont run me into a low bridge or something to that effect.

My Garmin C340 tried to put me on a ferry boat in Missouri once.

Gave me directions to a Target D.C. and when I arrived I was parked in front of a corn field.

Doesnt particulary care for the 120 degree temps of the Arizona summer either...tends to lock it up. I will have to find a place other than the windshield for it this summer.

Forget any area with new or recent roadways...doesnt have it on the maps so it doesnt know it exists. Las Vegas comes to mind....

Other than those incidents it has been ok.

I use ALK's CoPilot Truck which is "supposed" to only give truck routes. You can't trust it. Honestly, there's no gps solutions for trucks that can be relied on 100%.

Always use your CMVA to double-check your routing.

Garmin Nuvi 350 is what I use. It has a option for truck in the settings. It has found all my stops with out a problem and has yet to run me into any bad situtions.
Here is a good site where you can download POIs(Points of intrest) for different GPS systems:POI.

i have a tom tom one it is cheap but i don't do my routing by it the only reason i got it is to find what street i'm coming up on and how far i have to go. It is just a tool i use. Between my map, direction from the company, and tom tom haven't had any problems.

I had a Magellen once. It kept malfunctioning. I took it back.
I had more than one occassion where it routed me wrong.

I use Microsoft Streets and Trips on my laptop. I then check in my atlas on low overpasses I could run into.

First GPS I ever used was a Magellen(That was about four months ago). Was not impressed with it. Keep telling me to run I68 back to Cranberry,PA coming from DC. Would not re-route you onto the Pike and keep telling me to do a U-turn. :x
