Looking for driving info.

Hello,
I am considering retiring after 31 years from a auto company. I'd like to try a different way of life and supplement my pension. I'm 51, no tickets, no record and no kids at home. Ideally I'd like what amounts to a part time job driving to where ever, but I don't know if the animal exists. I live in southeastern Michigan. I'm not afraid of work and putting in time to get what I want is just part of life. Any information along these lines would be great.

Thanks,
Rick

Check this out.

I've also seen 3 man driving teams for other companies.
It's like driving part time.

Roehl does 7 on 7 off.

Thanks Jayburd for the quick reply. Is Wortham anywhere near Burleson? I lived there in the early 90's. Its just south of Fort Worth. I checked out the website. Is there any other options, being away for weeks at a time might be a stretch for me unless it was dues to be paid.

There are probably some part time day driving jobs in your area, but I am sure they require experience. Usually the path to those jobs leads you from a driving school through some time driving over the road away from home to get the experience.

Try one of the driver leasing co's. I did that for 2 yrs when I lived in Columbus Oh. I signed on as a casual and called them when I wanted to work. Some weeks I would take a turn around trip from Columbus to Lincoln Neb, some weeks I would just run local, and some weeks I didn't work. But there ain't no benefits with that type of job. If you need health ins. your out of luck.

Rick,

Your welcome...and good luck.

Worthham is south of Corsicana on I-45,near Mexia.
Funny Anna Nicole always claimed Mexia as her home, but I've never seen her name anywhere, not even on rest room walls.
