Talked with Schneider today

I was planning on getting my own CDL in a private school, now Schneider told me today they don't hardly hire new graduates anymore,I feel like this is some sort of a sales pitch to go thru their $4000 CDL course.
What's y'alls opinion on this, have y'all ever heard about this,I just don't like the fact of signing a contract with any kinda of a company.
I always thought if you get your CDL somewhere they would still put you with a trainer for a while to see what you know and they let you have it.

Guess I was wrong.

Kinda what I thought myself.

Wont hire students? HAHAHAHAHA let me catch my breath!

I guess I can not prove it but Schneider takes anyone/anything with pulse. Hell the only thing they did when I went through school was the mirror test. They put a mirror under your nose, if it fogs your hired.

However I really like Schneider and the training I got. Green Bay was intense but I learned a lot. I cant imagine trying to operate OTR without that training.

Good luck with it all.

So scania, Schneider charges $4K for "their" driving school? Just wondering. I am about to post a question on them and getting my CDL here in CO. Thanks in advance!

Colorado54, I'm in Denver myself, and I recently obtained my CDL permit with little effort. From what I have found locally, and I am sure there could be more, there is United States Truck Driving School. It's basically at I-70 and Wads, but you have to hook around Kipling and go back due east on the frontage road. Anyhow, if you do look in to it, I would highly suggest talking to Todd. He's been nothing short of great to me, helping me put a portfolio together for the WIA (workforce investment act) funding, and will answer any question you have about all of it.

Well, that's if you quit during that 18 month contract they want you to sign, after the 18 months that school actually turns out to be free, but like I said I just don't like the idea of signing a contract to work for a company for a certain amount of time.

Schneider came to our school last week. Fox Valley Tech (about 40 min south of Green Bay) the recruiter flat out started his spewing of bs with - I would hire the whole class. We always take recent grads. After his hour long session it was really deep. Boots wouldnt cover it.

Did he mention all the things you won't get paid for? Did he mention why the high turnover rate is?
