NEMF tomorrow

Well I'm going for a road test tomorrow for a NEMF. If I pass that means a sweet linehaul union gig making $1100-$1300 per week, 100% benefits for the whole family.
If I fail, I get a big nothing. Why must every road test I go on make me nervous as h*ll? Does anyone else still get like this?
Well, wish me luck.

I get the same way. I hate them damn road test. Good luck to you. I hope you get to be part of a good UNION the only way to do it. Anythings beats that last 1/2 ass job you had.

shifts....... turns etc.

my question is do most co's put you thruogh the same test that the state does..????

i'm looking for tri ax...or roll off jobs...(still)... alot of them say for a road

Dont worry you'll do fine. They just want to make sure you've really been in a truck before. They know you can drive. They know you might miss a gear or something. No biggie.

You ask "btw what am i doing wrong that my sigs isnt workin?"

Use [ and ] instead of < and >.

NEMF is union but it's not Teamsters. I think those guys are in some kind of machinists local or something. Anyway, your wages/bennies aren't up-to-snuff with the likes of ABF, Yellow, Roadway, etc. I think their linehaul men top-out at only .46 cpm. Don't think they pay city drivers OT. Plus they dump alot of work off onto their non-union subsidiary Eastern Freightways ("on the ball") while their own drivers wait by the phone at home.

There have been more than a couple of high-profile wrecks involving NEMF over the past year where the driver fell asleep at the wheel and caused multiple fatalities. Word on the street is that they push their drivers hard and expect you to run hot to earn your daily bread. In addition, they have a huge picture of GW Bush wearing a NEMF jacket hanging in their Elizabeth, NJ terminal...that alone should send up a red flag.

Still, you can gross over a grand with these guys and get home every day and every weekend off, so that in itself beats OTR by a country mile. Plus, I heard their bennies are pretty good and you get a pension to boot. Just watch your six over there.

Linehaul starts at .47cpm
P&D guys start at $16.55/hr, overtime after 8 & 40 hours.
Benefits 100% for the whole family.
They are machinist union
And I wanna know where I can get a copy of that pic!
