average trip length?
 

What's everybody's average trip length,do you get the 4 or 500 milers,or does the solo driver still get the 1000 something mile hauls?
Just curious been hearing that solo hauling for thousand mile trips are disappearing,because of relaying and teaming.
Any truth to this?

Mine varies alot depending and what is going on that week. If I am going in for timeoff, sometimes get short trips or just happen to be in the right place at the wrong time. Current trip is 1051 loaded and 15 empty. Loaded in Chicago to Houston.

Have not figured it exactly but I would say my average is about 900.

I still get good solo miles for length of haul. Usually leave hometime, Seattle to Atlanta. appox 2700 miles, then get a few 1000 milers, then some shorter runs that get me home. Overall I would say my average is about 1200-1300 miles.

my Average Length of Haul is hanging around 882miles for all loads hauled.

Reefer is still leading Dry Van nationally in LOH.

If you're looking at companies that only run East of Mississippi River or I-35-- you'll probably see a lot more 500-700 mile "over-nighter" loads.

The average trip per driver depends on a number of things: the company you're with, the area you drive, etc. When I was at Celadon my average trip was about 1,000 miles. USXpress' average was about 500. The company I'm with now is regional so my average is about 300.

Also, with those same companies my hometime with Celadon was 4 wks out, USXpress 2 wks out and where I am now I'm home every weekend and one or two times per week.

The majority of mine are 1500-1800 miles, mostly mid-west to the West coast and back. :)

My avg is about 2000 miles. However, I piddle around a few hundred miles (at most) on both ends getting loaded. HHg is LTL over 95% of the time.
