PLEASE DON'T LITTER
I am a mail contract driver and one of the biggest companies just lost a contract due to littering. They lost the contract because drivers were leaving the motel rooms dirty when they would swap drivers. The company had a hard time getting another local motel to give them rooms so the run was terminated. The run was from Atlanta Ga to Valdosta Ga swap drivers in Valdosta and then to Miami FL the drivers would swap out in Miami returning to Valdosta and back to Atlanta. I turned that run down due to the layover I would have been unemployed if I would have jumped ship. I read about the litter that goes on and I have seen it myself. So the next time you litter think about what could happen. What if a customer pulled their contract from your company because they saw you littering. Another thing to think about what if another driver poured trash on your rig and you were left to pick it up would that make you happy or would you curse him? Lets continue to clean up our image and drive safely. I know things have come a long way from when I started driving (1989) but we got to stay on top of this littering problem.

The real problem is not the littering. Littering is only one of the symptoms or effects of the real issue.
The real issue is people not taking any caring or pride in themselves, in the work they do, or how the present themselves to the world. |
Actually having other drivers leave trash on or under other drivers trucks happens quite often...I have parked done my walk around ,and the next morning found pee jugs under my truck or trailer ...I've found trash bogs full of trash left under my truck /trailer and on my cat walk ...I've gone to bed and woke uo and upon exiting the cab found bottles and small trash bags left on my steps .

Littering is my biggest peeve! :x

I had a CRE driver leave a large bag of urine and feces next to my truck in TN a few months back. Its just bad manners.

I was at the SH!T hole T/A in Roanoke Varginia off 81 I think ex 150 ,and got lucky to get a spot just as I came off the fuel island Well on my driver side was a car hauler ,and he pulled out just about an hour after I parked ,And left 2 completely full gallon jugs of pee I was going to move them ,but was to lazy as it was about 105 out...well I Went to bed shortly after , woke up the next morning ,and got dressed ,and got out to pre trip ,and was overcome with the smell of hot urine...well the CRE driver now parked next to me backed in and ran over the 2 gallon jugs of urine exploding them all over the side of my truck ...I was p!ssed no pun intended...And I just had the truck washed ...I was not pleased ,and because it was so bad I had to go buy a couple gallons of water just douce the side of the truck off so the truck didn't smell like giant pee bomb then I had to pay to get it washed out of my own pocket ,because I already got my 1x per month wash ... |
i'm sorry to laugh but one mans descretion is anothers pee bomb.i work in automotive repair untill i get cdl and some of the cars i work on are unbelievable you sure look at the people different when you see their car and they dont give it a second thaught mcdonalds all over floor old food condoms cigs on floor it realy has an odor when they bring in for something when they now you will be working under dash but they dont care its pretty gross and the person could be a bomb shell but you would never now it or maybe want to.good luck

Yeah the littering and Pee Bomb problems don't represent a positive image for us. I think if everybody who sees another driver doing these things would speak up to the driver they see doing it that maybe it would turn things around. The big problem I see is, everybody complains about it, but expects somebody else to fix it. If you speak to a driver and they won't clean it up and give you attitude, my advice would be to document the incident location, time and vehicle and call the comany that the driver works for. I know it seems like snitching but if we hold ourselves and others accountable maybe we can polish our public image and gain our respect back from the general public

You can't get us as a group to make a stand for much needed improvement in wages and working conditions , Which is actually important , So do you think a driver is going to hassle another driver over something as trivial as a pee bomb or bag of trash ?...Now If I see a driver toss a bag of trash under my truck or trailer I will without hesitation ask him to remove it ,And put it in the trash . |
Understand we can't get anybody to agree on anything, but if we all give up on the causes that are important nothing will ever change.
