FINALLY!!! Conditionally hired!!

Got the call from Becky today and am now a conditional Pumpkin hire! Gotta go get my physical Thursday and then on to the DMV for my CDL permit. I am SO excited now! This is what I have been waiting on for the past two weeks (and not very patiently, I might add)! My class starts Jan 5 in Charlotte. Anyone else going to be in that class?

Now my head is swimming with questions...so little time and so much to do. You guys are going to hate me from this point because I will ask every quewtion that comes to my mind here...LOL.

YES! PRAISE GOD...Finally something good is happenning in my life!

Not to rain on your parade, but a "conditional hire" is like them saying "we'll maybe kinda sorta hire you". You've still got a long way to go before you're actually employed by them.

Thanks Rev. I am well aware of the "Conditionally" thing. I have to pass the physical and background checks (which shouldnt be a problem). The physical can pose a problem, but Im not thinking that it will. I also have to have my CDL permit by Jan 5. as well...AND to be hired, we have to pass the schooling to get our CDL. So, I am aware of the obsticles that are in front of me, but to just get to THIS point is something for me. I had to jump through hoops and get them information that they needed before i could even be "Conditionally" hired...so, yeah, Im kind of excited to get this.

God has seen me through this far. I fully expect him to see me through the rest of it. The thanks and praise goes to God...at least on my end.

And you may have to successfully complete your OTJ training and be upgraded from trainee/student status.

I can not say for sure about the Great Pumpkin, but some training companies are doing a 2 stage hiring (or 3 if you include the pre hire) when it comes to newbies.

True. I know I have to get through it all and I feel very confidant that I will with no problems. I am just happy to even be at this point. It means progress in my life and that is what I need.

Ill get through it ...whatever it takes!!

I would be somewhat leery of SNI right now. I know they are downsizing their administration (including dispatchers) quite a bit right now; to the point where some of their office people are leaving on their own out of fear of being laid off.

Rev...you really DO want to make my day bad, huh? :D

If they are downsizing their administration then that is fine as long as they give me miles once I get on the road. If they dont have but one dispatcher, then that is fine too. Im going to get my training and my CDL license. Whatever happens from there will be fine too. My life and fate is in God's hands. I am happy to be "conditionally hired" and will be proud to be a Schneider driver once I get through the training.

I havent heard anyone else talking about them "downsizing".

truckingtiger, good luck with schneider and I hope you succeed with them. I got my start with them....
