driving record

What all does a trucking company look at as far as driving history when hiring new drivers, just DMV driving records,or do they check insurance claim records also?
Reason I'm asking I rented a car for my wife under my name and hers, well she hit something in the middle of the road and caused some damage to the car, there was no police involved, but guess whose name the claim keeps popping up under.......

Companies will check the DMV record for sure. Many companies also now check databases composed of county/state records that contain driving infractions. These infractions may show up even if they are not on the MVR. Some MVR info: http://www.dotjobhistory.com/article...cords_MVRs.asp

However, I know of no companies that check insurance claim records prior to hire.
