Does TMC allows pets?

I hear they pay well but are very fussy. So I cannot imagine they do.

Foxoreo 10-18-2007 03:03 PM

no they do not. I was looking into them before. Gave them a call, and they said they didn't allow pets.

Thanks Fox. That puts them out of contention.
If you are a dog person you understand.
If you are not, you don't.
Let's not go there please.

A starting place if you live in SE PA?

How about Maverick?
I live in Reading, PA.
Talked to the wife tonight and I have the OK from her. If I pass the DOT test I am on the road Mon!
Who would you suggest I check out as a starting place given my locale in SE PA?

Maverick doesn't allow pets. If you take a look up at the top, next to the big truck, there's some orange bars. Click under company listings, and then PA near the bottom to look at the ones hiring out of Pennsylvania. They have a listing of those that allow pets. My first criteria is that they don't require experience, as I don't have a CDL myself. Second is if they allow pets. And I am a dog person as well. If they don't allow pets, then they aren't even worth looking at.

Schneider doesn't allow pets. Roehl doesn't allow pets. Personally, I am going to go with Werner. Since my credit isn't that great, I need company sponsered training that won't cost me anything but maybe lodging. And Werner allows pets. I have heard bad things about Werner from this place, however, I have been talking with one of their drivers, and he seems to like it pretty well. They don't pay a whole lot, but that isn't too high up on my prerequisites for a company to work for. That driver has been with them for 2 years, and has been pretty happy. So, they are the ones that I will be going with.

Thanks fox. I don't see a way to the pets part. I can get to the PA listings.

Sometimes i am surprised that TMC even lets drivers in their trucks....they LOVE their trucks and go to extremes to keep them looking good.

Most flatbed compaines do not allow pets. Since alot of them haul out of mills. Most Mills have a NO PET POLICY.

Thanks Double R. I guess I better look at van companies then.

Personally, until you get used to your truck and being on the road.It is hard enough to take care of yourself much less an animal on the road.I would get my training done, whichyou can't have a pet during training, get used to the road and truck and then bring along Rover. It is hard out here at times. Some customers don't allow pets on their property.Even though some pets are cleaner and better behaved than the drivers.Just my two cents worth.Good luck in whatever you decide.
