3 Orientations too many?

Over the past year I've been to orientation at 3 companies. I've left each one for different reasons. The first, I needed a medical release....I was able to get the release up decided against going with that company. At the second company...on the final day of orientation I get a call saying my dad had just passed away...so naturally I jumped on the next plane home. The third company....i was supposed to go with the program that would allow me to have a family member train me, then go solo. At the end of my first day, the family member as fired.

Do I have a snow ball's chance in hell of getting on any companies after all of this?

Do you know if anything went on your DAC report? I read on here somewhere that once you show up for orientation that certain events can go on your DAC.

As far as the 1st incident...Why did'nt you return to the company?

the 2nd incident why did'nt you return to the company?

Orientations Too Many?

I doubt it. It's my experience that a driver isn't "hired" until upgraded to solo driver and/or given the keys to a power unit. Showing up for orientation doesn't do it. If a company made a DAC/USIS report simply because you didn't complete orientation due to deaths in the family or deciding simply to not go with them shouldn't have generated a DAC/USIS entry. Blowing a drug test would be an entirely different ball of wax.
I'd write a letter to USIS/DAC outlining why you didn't go with the companies (rebuttal), if the companies who generated the negative reports don't respond, it's my understanding USIS/DAC has to remove their entries. Keep trying. BOL

It depends entirely on the company. Many companies consider you an employee the moment you show up for orientation, especially if they are paying orientation pay or expenses. There are a few companies out there that don't consider you an employee until you take dispatch, but there aren't many of those.

Those 3 orientations are going to be a huge red flag to any companies you apply with now. They will consider that fact that you were "unable to finish" orientation 3 times and that will knock you out.
