Can you tell by the number of the wheelbase how sharp a truck turns (or doesn't turn)?

If a truck has a wheelbase of 250, how sharp can it turn?

If two trucks are identical other than wheelbase than the shorter one will turn sharper than the long one. If they are two different makes all bets are off. My 2000 Pete exhd and 244" wheelbase turns sharper than my 88 T-600 with a 230" wheelbase did.

When you buy a truck, can you get one with a very short wheelbase so that it turns very sharp? WHY do they manufacter trucks that take half the length of a football field to turn around? :x

Wheel base and lock 2 lock steer . If you have truck that is short wheel base ,but hardly turns much left to right won't turn fast either , but usually steering stops are adjustable .

You guys are forgetting the wheel cut, fleet trucks generally have more of a wheel cut then the big classic trucks.

If you are thinking about buying a Peterbilt, I suggest you find one with at least a 260" wheelbase. If the 389 is anything like the 379 a shorter wheelbase will beat you to death. The shorter wheelbase will turn in a smaller space but the ride will tend to be rough. There are trucks with a shorter wheelbase that ride fairly well, such as Volvo. Just something you may want to consider.

It is illegal to pull a 53 foot trailer with any truck longer than 244 inch wheelbase in ontario

legally in on, you can drive a 244 with a 53' but the total length cant exceed 75 ft.

and just so u know, i never heard of any1 who got a ticket for over length, (natural overlength that is),

lol the only time i ever heard of some1 getting fined for size is bobtailing on the 400's (max size is 18 ft and under ... except for busses) and for parking tickets in front of your house, legally in most juristictions in ontario, max length for a vehicle to sit on the street in front of your house is 6.3 meters or something like that.

and 244" petes are common in ontario for some companies trucks that is.
