Whats wrong with reefers?

Forgive my "newness" I am 6 weeks into a 12 week CDL program. I know reefers are loud, but what else is wrong with hauling them? I see alot of folks hate hauling them

I've never hauled a reefer just tried to get to sleep, next to one.

I have been pulling a reefer for 12 years and the new Thermo Kings are much much quieter then they used to be now the Carrier units they still bug me when I am unlucky to have one.

There's always work. Reefers can pull dry van loads too. Reefer drivers hardly ever sit around waiting for loads.

I never had problems sleeping with a reefer running. A reefer only woke me once when it started running funny and I took it to TK in the middle of the night with a load of ice cream (-20F, running fast constantly). It turned out the drain tube had clogged and it was causing the reefer to switch in and out of defrost every 5-10 minutes.

I hate grocery wharehouses sitting for 8 - 10 hrs to unload 2 frikin pallets. That is probably the biggest complaint of all.

Don't blame the player, blame the game.

Anyone that sits that long needs only to blame the company they work for. They are the ones that allow their equipment to sit all day, usually uncompensated.

Well I'm running dry, and the longest time I've had to wait is two hours and that was for a load reassignment.

Never minded the reefers.. they can be a headache, but what else is new.
