Out of state CDL training?

I live in Georgia, if I goto an out of state school, such as the Maverick sponsored school in Ar, how does it work getting my georgia license?

You will transfer your license to the state you go to school in. Then you will transfer it back when you get your Class A.

Thanks, will all the testing be done there? Or will I have to test in GA too? Reason I ask is I hear its a pain to schedule tests in GA, everything runs SLOWWWW down here in the south.

The only thing you may have to do is pay your home state a transfer fee. But you don't need to retest.

great thanks.

License Transfer

"But you don't need to retest." It's Georgia, it may be different. SlingBlade07, you may want to ask Georgia DMV if they accept third party examiners. My testing was in Louisiana, I carried all testing material with me to Florida DMV in a sealed envelope and I got my CDL from Florida, not Louisiana without transfer. BOL

Once you have a CDL from somewhere, you should be able to transfer it anywhere.

When I was in school, all the out-of-state people wanted to take the test in Virginia, so they falsified documents proving they lived in this state, so they could transfer their licenses. Had people volunteer to sign an affidavit that so-and-so had been living with such-and-such for X months or whatever. Total bullcrap, but it seemed to be de rigeur. Everybody graduated. Even me. I was the dumb kid in the behind the wheel part of my class. :)

(No, I never signed any such affidavits for anybody. For the record.)
