Team Driver Advise

Hello,
I just got my class A. I am A little discouraged by the local job market out here in Sacramento area.
I have considered sucking it up and hitting the road for a couple of years.

My Father-in-law had a pretty good idea. he has been driving 35+ years. the last 10 has been flatbed. hes getting tired of it.
He suggested that we team up. That way, he can still make some of that good team money and i can get my feet wet OTR with a guy i get along with really well.

Sooo, can i get some advise on what companies has a good team driver package. we would be hired from California
There is so many, i wanna steer clear of the bad rep companies.

Thanks, Mike.

one can make great money teaming i think. if you can sleep in a moving truck. i have considered myself but very few people i trust to drive while i sleep.

i would look iinto UPS Freight or Fed ex Freight. Both run coast to coast, all drop/hook and around$.56/mile with no gimmicks like alot of your OTR Companies.

that was the kind of advise i was looking for.

fed ex freight does not run teams, ground contractors do.

HA, it should be the other way around. ive had a class A 5 weeks, hes had his for 40 years.

But really, im not concerned with the ups and downs of teaming.
i want to know what companies to look at and what companies to keep off my list.

Thanks, Mike

Keep Covenant and U.S. xpress on the OFF list. Try Fedex custom critical. They should have enough time-sensitive loads to keep a team busy.Hauling Produce from west to east also keeps a team moderately busy but the season for that is almost over.
