But which old rules? If they just roll back the 2005 rules, then we have 11/14, but one of the things under dispute is the 11th hour. There's no precedent for a 10/14 system, with an unstoppable 14-hour clock. That would be yet a third new set of rules unto itself. So if they're rolling back to the "old" rules before any of the disputed items went into effect, then must it not be the old 10/15 rules from the '30s, before they started stirring this pot in the first place?

I'm not going to worry until I hear something from Safety telling me what the hell the rules are now.

The US Court of Appeals is "vacating" the 11hr driving rule and the 34hr reset. On Sept 14 if no action is taken by FMCSA the Appeals court will make their final ruling, and vacate the 11hr driving rule and the 34hr reset. What happens to the 11hr driving is anybodys guess, but it will be less than 11. The 34hr has no alternative it will be gone. The rest of the HOS is not in question (14hr/10hr break/70or60). They will remain in place.

They are not ordering a return to an old HOS, they are only vacating 2 portions of the current HOS.
