class A/B

Trying to find some info on how to obtain a Class A/B. Do I need to go to the DMV or is there a special school I must attend? I am thinking about getting into a local job driving boxes to help get my mom and I on our feet.

Not sure where to go to get them, I am in the dallas area.

thanks

I don't know how the job market is down there, unless it is desperate you will need to go to school to keep the insurance companies happy. I got my class b by myself about a year ago, cant get a job, companies want me, but the insurance companies say no. You might get lucky, but go to school to be safe. I will be getting my class a in October, others can tell you about your class a or local chances better than I can at the moment

Well, there is a couple of ways you can do it.

    Whichever way you go, good luck.

    For most local Class B jobs the employers don't really care about formal education that much. Or about you having "X" number of years expeirence. They just want you to have a "good" record and all required endorsements.

    For the Class A Jobs, most companies will want you to have graduated from a certified trucking school plus have some experince.
