School Bus Endorsement
Seeing that I have decided to get off the road and go back to college, I decided a good part time job would be to drive a school bus and still put my CDL to use. Normally any endorsement has costs me 20 bucks, 10 to take the test and than 10 afterwards to get a new CDL. They charged me 50 bucks to get my schoolbus endorsement, the cost of a CDL license in Arkansas. I can't help but think they overcharged me...the 3 ladies in the revenue office talked about it for several minutes, it's like they didn't know what they were talking about. They said with a Class A and Passenger, I still have to pay 50 bucks. That just don't add up to me. Can anyone set the record straight? Thanks.

Anyone renewing a license or issued a new license after August 1, 2007, to drive a school bus, must pay the $20.00 application fee and take the tests for the “P” endorsement and “S” endorsement and pay a $41.00 license fee to obtain a class B CDL. This will allow the driver to operate any vehicle that falls under the class B. category. This act aligns Arkansas law with the “S” endorsement which was put into effect in 2005 by the Federal Government. http://www.elitefleetforum.com/laws.htm kc0iv |
