So I got a problem here.....

When I was with my last employer, we were base+commission, had a million time stops, so we were always hammered down! Anyways, ALL in 2006 I received the following:

Speed 63 in a 55 (Commercial vehicle)- I was guilty as ever, but who would of thought they would ticket me for 8 over...

Speed 65 in a 55 (Motorcycle)- Again, guilty, but I was on a sunday cruise in the country.... nothin but cows, I mean COME ON!!!!

Marked Lanes (Non-Preventable Accident)- A car decided I was turning too slow and attempted to sneek around me! My lug nuts caught the rear end of his car, popped his tire, and put a couple scrapes on his quarter panel. No injuries and I don't even believe it was D.O.T. reportable???

Yeah, thats all I have in the last 3 years! 2006 was a rough year for me. But I was wondering what the problem was with companies not really being interested in me.... and then I seen my M.V.R.!!! 1 point for each of the speeds, and 4 points for the marked lanes/accident!!! Thats a total of 6 damn points!!! NO WONDER.... Is there anything I can do to get my record cleaned up other then wait??? I mean appeals, get a lawyer, ect??? HELP!!!!

You will just need to wait it out. Then by the time they come off your record hopefully a little additional maturity will set in.

Were you ticketed for the marked lanes acc.? If you have points on your record from it I would think that it was written up as your fault. You need to look at your DAC as well. Most companies would consider that a Preventable accident not a non preventable if this is the case that could be a lot of the problem. There are companies out there that will hire you. You may have to work for someone that you don't necessarily want to for a year or two and keep your nose clean. BOL

You will find it difficult to get on with a reputable carrier with so many violations within such a short time frame. Most will give you up to 3 moving violations within 3 years but to have 3 in a single year shows a careless disregard for safety. You may find someone who will hire you, but getting that many violations past the insurance company may be difficult. You may need to wait until some time has past and at least one of these violations have dropped off of your mvr.

Your surprise at getting a ticket for 8 over says a lot. I don't find it surprising at all. In fact your attitude towards both speeding tickets in general kinda makes me wonder if you learned your lesson at all.

I get the speeding tickets, they are what they are, but what I dont get here is the Marked Lanes ticket, if it was the other drivers fault why were you cited? and what were you cited for?

In all three case, guilty or not, you should have gotten a lawyer. Your CDL is your living in the trucking world. You have to protect it at all cost, even if it means paying double what the ticket fine would have been.

Try to remember that next time.

Well the lawyer thing might work for the first time and get it reduced to something non-important, but after awhile it gets old and the judge loses patience

Well, your right. Driving safe is a great way to save on the lawyer fees, and not to deal with an angry judge.

Most important is that aspect of getting job will be delayed until the tickets drop off...

If you can't avoid getting new speeding tickets, maybe a new career is in order.

Just my .02 cents.
