I am currently retired, have been for one year, tired of sitting around on my butt, will start CDL School August 6th.

Not sure which Company I will work for, have been reading all the boards I can find for the last 3 months, Great Information, Thanks to everyone that post and respond.

I live in the NW and am looking at Gordon, Interstate, Watkins/Shepard, Kight and Schneider.

I traveled 46 weeks a year for the last 7 years with my previous job, 20 years there,,,,,,, big difference,,,,,,, in a plane.

Any others 60 or over doing the same thing?

I'm 50 and just retired from GM last friday, after a little more than 30 years. I plan on relocating to PA next spring, and then start my new trucking career after i'm settled in. We have a solid work background, and as long as you have a clean driving record, and don't have a problem passing a dot physical, us "older" guys will actually have an advantage over someone much younger  Best of luck to you in your new career!

All of my records are clean, have no problem with any of that, can pass a physical with no problem, looking forward to get started.

Congrats on your retirement, I worked for GM in the 80's here in the NorthWest, still drive their product.

Good Luck on your move and new adventure.

as long as you are in good mental and physical shape you should encounter very little problems...
