Candian Truck Drivers

How much does the average Canadian Truck Driver make? About the same as US drivers? More? Less?

You can make just as much as an american driver. It depends on where you're from. If you're from the GTA, CPM rates are much higher for drivers.

Out here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, it's not hard to find a job that pays 40 cpm, or even more.

Here are some pay packages from local companies:

Where are you from? That would help a lot.

When I last worked for companies in Canada, about 4 years ago, I was making 40 cents a mile. I was paid by the miles, not kilometers, cause most of my work was cross border. The Canadian companies have to be comparable with U.S. companies I would think in order to keep drivers. I could be wrong though. If I am I'm sure someone will tell me. LOL

Makes sense....

I always wondered if most of the Canadian OTR drivers spent over 60-70% of their time in the US....

Yes Big, out of a 7 day week I only spent 2 of those days at home. The rest of the time I was travelling and doing picks and drops in the U.S. Such is the life of a trucker. But someone has to do it right? LOL

I am from Minnesota. Just wondering... I like Canada...

Is that US currency or Canadian?

allan5oh 06-25-2007 02:58 PM

That will be canadian currency. They're almost on par lately.

Bison transport is a cheap company, they undercut everybody.

As my dispatcher put it "bison transport is the whore of canada"
