info on CCC
 

looking for info on ccc here in jacksonville fl. if any one has info I would greatly appreciate it.

I know they pay % per run, what is a normal run, miles or time wise, how much could someone expect to bring home, I do have some experience. How is the company to work for, I havent heard any really negative about them except the pay but no one will tell me what that is. I would really like to do long haul but have family issues that require me to be home. I know I need to pay my due's and log time and miles under me before I can look for the better jobs, so I was wondering if this company would give me what I need to support my family and do my time. Plus do you think I'm crazy cause I would be giving up a 20 + hr job to do what I have always dreamed about, being a trucker.

Topper, define "home time." In other words, how much weekly home time do you need?

I just quit CCC few months ago (terminal in west point, va). If you're doing local you'll get 23% of the load with no exp., up to 26% max. Their daycabs are mostly Mac automatics, governed at 60mph. The sleepers are also autos, governed at 65. If you're going the OTR way, they pay HHG miles (iirc, zip code to zip code). I only did the local daycab runs, DO NOT expect a steady paycheck. I barely came home with $500 every week (6 days work week, 70+ hours). I was only there for the experience & nothing else.

home time well atleast every other night would work but nightly would fit better. like I said I have family issues that I need to stay around. thanks for your input. I talked to a guy today who runs a local petrolime company he said he could get me in driving a straight truck first then get me into a taker with time and pretty good money to.

Topper, you may want to call Tony over at the yard there off of 9A. I believe he may have a couple of openings for local drivers where you could be home every day/night. I wouldn't leave your current job to work for CCC, unless you're that much in to wanting to drive a truck. With CCC out of Jax, you'll most likely be pulling beer loads down and around south florida, and the hours can vary, i don't know what your thoughts on getting up at 2 and 3 in the morning to work are, but if you plan to work with CCC, plan on those types of hours, and they can be very irregular hours without much consistency. As far as their local division goes, you can find better, their OTR gig is not so bad.
