How long to wait?

I feel like a teenager again. I submitted an application to 2 different companies. One has called back and I've since had the phone interview and have been "pre-hired". While the other (my 1st choice of whom I'd like to work for) I have not heard from. It's been over a week and I hear they have a waiting list for their school. So how long should I wait for them to call before I contact them myself? The application was submitted online. Do these apps. get lost in the shuffle?

I don't think there was anything on the application that may have been a turn off. No DUI/DWI, no felonies ect.............. The only fault there may have been is I'm married :lol:

Seriously, give your first choice a call. Find out what is going on--maybe they think they didn't receive it or maybe somebody "accidentally" hit the delete button or maybe they just hire the persistent ones who call once or twice a week or ?????
