Can't stop looking at trucks :)
 

Now that DH has decided he's going to school for his Class A, whenever I'm driving I look at every truck that goes by (I know, I know, not very safe). I'm just checking them out to see which ones are nice and which ones aren't. Today I saw a really shiny orange Schnieder cab (? don't know all the lingo) with a shiny silver tanker. I wonder if some of the drivers think I'm checking them out :) It's fun to look at all the trucks and dream about which one DH might end up driving!! Hopefully when our kids are grown up someday I can ride with him. What a way to see the country.

Yeah, the nicest ones (IMO) is the TMC, Mcelroy, and Ashley. There's alot of O/O's with nice rides. Seen a yellow coranado today that was really sharp.

There's a company up the road from me in Bristol, VA. Rogers trucking I think it is, their whole fleet is 379's in all kinds of colors and always clean. Really nice. IMO, just like attire, a clean truck shows pride.

Some of the sharpest trucks I've seen were Coronado's. Argosy's dare i say can be quite the eye catcher as well.

I'm particular when it comes to 379's though. Only the customized ones do it for me. The roof of the cab and the sleeper need to be exactly the same height and it also needs to have straight stacks and an extended wheelbase. Otherwise i'm not too keen about them.

As for daycabs, Kenworth T800's look best.

I drive a 2005 Sterling daycab....its basically a low powered cheap piece of junk that spends alot of the time in the shop through no fault of my own.

Called, a flat top. 8)

Stevens Transport has a some nice KW's out there. T2000's I believe. I like the fact that they are usually clean and dark blue is so sweet!

Stupid question........in a Freightliner Columbia mid-roof, can someone who is 6 foot tall stand up in those?? I have never driven a mid-roof before and one of the companies I am looking at has mid-roofs. Just curious.

I drove a mid-roof freightliner century a couple years ago. I am 5'11 and was not able to stand up all they way in it but it has more room in it then many people think.

I'm 6 foot and was able to stand up in all of the mid-roof trucks that I looked at during my search for 1 decent unit. The truck I bought has a mid-roof. The Columbia midroof is probably the XT roof...the "Humpback" version.

I drove a Columbia '03 mid-roof (JB Hunt dedicated account) awhile back. I'm 6'3" and I could not stand up in it. I had to to do one of those neck tilts with slightly bended knees in order to "stand" up in one.

I think Congress should pass a law that if you drive OTR and you're over 6' fall, you get a condo. Period! :P :lol:

Well, I am 6 foot so this will be interesting. I am looking a Jacobson and all they have is mid-roofs. At least that is what the recruiter told me. We shall see, if I decide on them.
