anyone know of any good companies, or o/o's looking for drivers?

If you live in Columbus, OH....and can't find a driving job....something is seriously wrong, or you have set your expectations way too high...

your probably right, i dont want a truck that wont do the speed limit in the west, trying not to go east, and i have 1 speed and two suspensions on mvr, those were for letting ins drop on personal car for a bit, and got caught, but i retained a rs22bond and license was valid again...the other was cause i took to long to pay a speed ticket, anyways, a good driver here, good atitude, and looking to go south and west from columbus ohio

Kind of limits you then to leasing on with Prime to get one of their 75 mph trucks if they still have them set that way, or buying your own truck. The vast majority of fleets are set to 68 or less, though some are set at 70 like CFI. But then they are all getting hawkish about fuel costs. I think its altogether possible that some fleets will limit their trucks even lower if fuel prices go any higher. And there is a move afoot to have it made a law that all semi's be governed to 68 nationwide.

yeah i know, and letting someone that holds the note for your truck dipatch your freight isnt a good idea either, guess the lower governed companies would be more attractive if the pay was porportionate!!

Driver, a faster truck doesn't necessarily equal higher pay. I have no problem making a decent paycheck and I never break 60 mph (usually the cruise is set somewhere between 54 and 58 depending upon what state I'm in. Usually ran 58-62 mph when I was OTR and the money was fine there also. I remember when I was at Maverick, the highest paid company driver the year before averaged 52 mph over the entire year, and his truck was governed at 70.

You might find a company that will give you an ungoverned truck, but if your running from OH to the west or south, the majority of states you will be travelling will have you limited to 65 mph or less anyway.
