flatbed in residential areas?
hi all
are there permits for driving a tractor+48' fatbed in residential areas where it is clearly marked NO TRUCKS. for delivery of specialty wood items made for homes in new and old housing subdivisions i run from Ontario,Canada to Ohio, Michigan, border states an estimate weight of the load(multiple pieces) probably no more than 10 000 lbs off-loaded via forklift is the police forgiving in this situations? ty all |

Yes, I agree with the above. I was told by police in New Hampshire that you can't use a street as a "Thru street" but if you have a reason to be there it's ok as long as you have shipping papers.
You really have to watch it also. I brought my truck over a friends house and really made a mess of the road from all the branches I knocked over with my stacks. |
yupper you are making a local delivery so you are allowed just be mindfull of bridge maximum weight signs and road sign and you are ok :wink:

I delivered a new John Deere 310 loader/ hoe to a cemetery one day. The street was posted no trucks......parcel delivery only. As I was proceeding up the street, a cop raced up behind me and pulled me over. He asked if I missed the sign. I replied no sir, I have to deliver this parcel :lol: He said there is no constuction going on up this road. When I informed him the machine was going to the cemetery, he just stood there a bit and said Oh, I suppose they would use one of these wouldn't they. :lol:
