Please accept my sincerest apologies. I am very late in my much belated ignore of this post.

I am totally ignoring this thread, and the purpose of my reply is to let everyone here know that I AM earnestly and sincerely ignoring it.

I was just late reading it, so I must confess that I have not been ignoring it as actively as I should have been.

I can only hope that by replying in this fashion, I have not screwed up a really good 10 page ignore that has been taking place.

I do hope that I won't be banned!!

I've been trying to figure out why I keep coming here to figure out if I have or have not been here, and if anybody could prove I was here since I'm not really sure this has all happened. But since I'm here (for the moment), remember that the origional poster is in grave danger if this post reaches Steve's post (in quantity, not quality),.....and I will not be held reponsible if it goes to 90 pages.

Antisocial Personality Disorder: Overview

Please understand Antisocial Personality Disorder results in what is commonly known as a Sociopath. The numbers of persons with this disorder are much higher than generally thought, with nearly 6% of men and over 1% of women having this disorder. The criteria for this disorder require an ongoing disregard for the rights of others, since the age of 15 years. Some examples of this disregard are reckless disregard for the safety of themselves or others, failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors, deceitfulness such as repeated lying or deceit for personal profit or pleasure, and lack of remorse for actions that hurt other people in any way. Additionally, they must have evidenced a Conduct Disorder before the age of 15 years, and must be at least 18 years old to receive this diagnosis.

People with this disorder appear to be charming at times, and make relationships, but to them, these are relationships in name only. They are ended whenever necessary or when it suits them, and the relationships are without depth or meaning, including marriages. They seem to have an innate ability to find the weakness in people, and are ready to use these weaknesses to their own ends through deceit, manipulation, or intimidation, and gain pleasure from doing so.

They appear to be incapable of any true emotions, from love to shame to guilt. They are quick to anger, but just as quick to let it go, without holding grudges. No matter what emotion they state they have, it has no bearing on their future actions or attitudes.

The rarely are able to have jobs that last for any length of time, as they become easily bored, instead needing constant change. They live for the moment, forgetting the past, and not planning the future, not thinking ahead what consequences their actions will have. They want immediate rewards and gratification.

Treating antisocial personality disorder can be difficult as those with this disorder may have little or no desire to change themselves, which is a prerequisite. No medication is available either. Appropriate treatments for antisocial personality disorder include group psychotherapy, having feedback from peers, and constructive confrontation of inappropriate behaviors.

Many simply go on to become Professional Truck Drivers, living out their lives with a total disregard.

Smokeeater 06-06-2007 03:18 AM

20 pages, this thread has the potential to top the TMC thread in page #s.

Hmmm. Well, I was going to say something, but please, disregard. :? :P

Doghouse 06-06-2007 04:32 AM

Thats funny, because I wasn't going to say anything, anyway,......so just disregard, and accept the fact that we are all Sociopath's, and its OK.

Fireman:

In the interest of fairness to all concerned, I ask that you please be as judicious as possible in how you expend your time ignoring me.

The person who initiated this thread is the one who deserves to be ignored the most. I don't know who that person is, because I would have to pay attention in order to discern that, in which case I would not be ignoring this thread as I should be.

The time that you spend ignoring me is time that might be better spent ignoring the thread itself. If we get out of hand in ignoring the origional poster, then we could wind up with this thread being locked; that, IMHO, would be most unfortunate.

By the same token, I do think that it is a matter worthy of note that the OP did, in fact, ask that we disregard this thread, and did not state that we had to ignore it. Now, there is, IMO, room for debate upon where "disregard" ends, and at what point "ignore" begins.

This IS a matter worthy of discussion, but the problem is that in order to discuss it, we would have to pay attention, which, again, would result in a failure on our part to disregard the thread, or ignore it.

We could end up in a cyber-war if that happened. Friendships could end, jobs could be lost, families could be torn apart, Paris Hilton could wind up spending another night in jail, and Rosie O'Donald could wind up back on TV. Greenhouse gasses could become an even greater problem than they already are, and Al Gore could wind up joining CAD.

Our dependence upon foreign oil and fossil fuels would become even greater.

World famine, which is a very important cause for me, could become evermore rampant.

Without meaning to hijack this thread, I do believe that I must point out that we could end world famine simply by not having parsley used as a garnish on our plates at fancy restaraunts. Parsely is VERY high in nutrients, and since most people don't eat the parsley garnish anyway, we could give it to the poor and the hungry. (Fancy restaraunts, in this case, means those high fallutin' eateries that don't have a drive-through window. )

We could also litterally reduce gasoline consumption throughout the entire world by about 20% just by keeping our tires properly inflated.

So, just by doing TWO little things, by making two VERY SMALL sacrifices, by foregoing the parsley garnishes, and by keeping our car and truck tired properly inflated, we could make the world a much better place, and STILL be able to both ignore AND disregard this thread.

As for ME??? I am not yet ready to make such sacrifices!!

I can only pray that voices of reason will prevail.

And therein lies the rub, Roadhog!!

If you had ignored and disregarded my last reply, then there really would have been no need to reduce my reply to the words that you highlighted.

This is a perfect example of the risks and dangers we face in dealing with this issue, and your reply exemplifies the potential harm that can be caused by our failure to properly disregard and ignore this thread.

I can only pray for this nation!!
