The person who initiated this thread is the one who deserves to be ignored the most. I don't know who that person is, because I would have to pay attention in order to discern that, in which case I would not be ignoring this thread as I should be.

The time that you spend ignoring me is time that might be better spent ignoring the thread itself. If we get out of hand in ignoring the origional poster, then we could wind up with this thread being locked; that, IMHO, would be most unfortunate.

By the same token, I do think that it is a matter worthy of note that the OP did, in fact, ask that we disregard this thread, and did not state that we had to ignore it. Now, there is, IMO, room for debate upon where "disregard" ends, and at what point "ignore" begins.

This IS a matter worthy of discussion, but the problem is that in order to discuss it, we would have to pay attention, which, again, would result in a failure on our part to disregard the thread, or ignore it.

We could end up in a cyber-war if that happened. Friendships could end, jobs could be lost, families could be torn apart, Paris Hilton could wind up spending another night in jail, and Rosie O'Donald could wind up back on TV. Greenhouse gasses could become an even greater problem than they already are, and Al Gore could wind up joining CAD.

Our dependence upon foreign oil and fossil fuels would become even greater.

World famine, which is a very important cause for me, could become evermore rampant.

Without meaning to hijack this thread, I do believe that I must point out that we could end world famine simply by not having parsley used as a garnish on our plates at fancy restaraunts. Parsely is VERY high in nutrients, and since most people don't eat the parsley garnish anyway, we could give it to the poor and the hungry. (Fancy restaraunts, in this case, means those high fallutin' eateries that don't have a drive-through window. )

We could also litterally reduce gasoline consumption throughout the entire world by about 20% just by keeping our tires properly inflated.

So, just by doing TWO little things, by making two VERY SMALL sacrifices, by foregoing the parsley garnishes, and by keeping our car and truck tired properly inflated, we could make the world a much better place, and STILL be able to both ignore AND disregard this thread.

As for ME??? I am not yet ready to make such sacrifices!!

I can only pray that voices of reason will prevail.
