If you could change one thing about your current company...

What would it be?

In my opinion, the only thing missing here at Superior Carriers (or our sister company, Carry Transit) is that I'd like for our health insurance to include vision coverage. But other than that, I love it here as evidenced by my tanker thread and will not be leaving . Everything else here makes me :D...

Mtc_Is_Hell 05-09-2007 10:19 AM

Hub or practical miles

Fozzy 05-09-2007 12:21 PM

More drivers that will actually show up to work....

Lack of communication at times. I think this happens to everyone sometimes

Jackrabbit379 05-09-2007 03:54 PM

A raise :P

Better tractors with a real drive train.

The pay & bennies at Con-Way are good. It takes longer to top out that some of the other LTLs, but they will hire you with the ink still drying on your CDL so it balances out.

Sterlings, at least as Con-Way orders them suck.

When I tooling about the city pulling 35k+ of newsprint in a "medium duty" tractor with a neutered Cat C7 with an archaic 7 speed it can be frustrating.

They also have horrible ride quality and little to no insulation or soundproofing.

Oooh. I forgot about that. Yeah, I know that 379s are out of the question, but trucks with motors that have atleast more than 300 horses. :? Oh, and bump up the governors to atleast the speed limit. :?

CaliTrucker 05-10-2007 01:33 AM

Right now, #1 on the list is a raise. :D And a VERY close second is a new ride. The ol' 1990 Pete just doesn't want to run any more, and it holds coolant like a busted balloon   Hopefully it will be put to rest after this summer, IF it lasts that long

I would love to see actual miles driven paid but no company is ever going to do that - nice to dream though  They pay pc miler shortest distance which takes the Ohio turnpike and they aren't allowed to take the turnpike. That bugs me! Ok so maybe let them take the turnpike then.

The other thing I would like to see is the deductible smaller on the health insurance.

Name on the authority from HIS to MINE!

A UNION :D

1: Atleast 4 new straps every month. That way I dont have to worry about the DOT picking on me for some of my straps that are a little frayed.

2: The option to choose what loads I wanted to take....But I guess if that was the case, there would be alot of steel laying around the warehouse for a while.... 8)

3: Just a couple more $ but I cant complain too much about that

I get paid actual miles.
http://www.action-transport.com/

Ashley also pays that way. But we gotta (gasp) handle frieght, and lots of it, too.
Last year I drove 144,000 miles and made 57,000.

uglymutt 05-10-2007 10:37 PM

all loads are no touch freight

tractor turned up to 75mph

pay percent rather cpm

Skywalker 05-11-2007 02:33 AM

  A new starter rope for my Briggs and Stratton engine thats under the hood......   Either that or one of the new Cummins 600 HP ISX engines....now that would be "KEWL"!!!

Yep, it would be nice if Superior included "Vision" in our health plan. That way my %$#@ glasses wouldn't cost so much. But on the other hand, when I filled a few prescriptions about 2 weeks ago.... I found out just how really good the prescription coverage is...it made me really :D :D :D :D And our health insurance deductible is only $250 per person... 8) 8) 8)

Increase my pay to support the lifestyle to which I wish to become accustomed. Freight, to where and when I want to go. Once I get there, plenty of time off to sightsee. Converter.

Good luck with that! LOL. We on the freight side have brown and grey uniforms and trucks but apparently some big wig doesnt like it. He supposedly said UPS is BROWN not brown and grey. So They are going to change us again to all brown uniforms and trucks. Makes sense when you think about it, it has to be cheaper.

BanditsCousin 05-13-2007 10:50 PM

The whole HHG industry needs to quit the insance discounts and burn the new tariff
