Well, since they "turned up" their trucks.... I think, like most other companies.... they pay by the MILE!

Only J.B. Hunt is still slow enough to have to pay by the week!

Sorry, Dude.... just couldn't help myself! I don't know the answer, and I WOULD tell you to "do a search" but that function seems to be worthless on this board!

I'm SURE someone will come along and answer you! :D

OOps!! See there?? BigBird has allready answered!

Kali, not trying to give you a hard time. But, you're going to orientation in 2 weeks and you still don't know such basic things about this company? Are you sure you did enough research to make a decent decision on who to work for? I'm not saying anything negative about your choice of employer, just that to be asking these things at this stage of the game makes me wonder if you are doing yourself any favors. Have you done any comparisons to other companies? There was a checklist floating around on one of these boards that listed a bunch of questions to ask companies. If you haven't seen it yet it may help you out.

If you haven't seen it yet it may help you out.
And... if you HAVE seen it.... it might help you even MORE!!!

Uturn2001 04-29-2007 07:06 PM

Where are you attending orientation at?

This will make a big difference in the answers you get about the motel as well as others you may have that are location specific.

Anybody here about the J.B. hunt driver caught with dope in his truck?

They opened up his passenger door and a Swift driver fell out!!!! :D

Yes, I've seen it and used it too. It's very usefull in making sure someone asks the right questions when talking to recruiters. Better to know beforehand what's going to happen rather than getting surprised later.

Oh, was there a point you was trying to make with your lame response? Or are you just another one of those know-it-all types?

Geez! You need to lighten up! He was just joking around! OR, are YOU just one of those know-it-all types??? Besides, I don't think he was talking to you anyways!

Heres the deal with Swift........and I know from experience.

They are no different than any other major carrier. Though I never worked for Swift, Werner, CR England etc etc etc. But working for a major carrier and talking to other drivers from major carriers , you'll find that none of them are better than the other. Where they might be better in some areas, they are worse in other areas.

Its kinda like being sentanced to death but having the option of choosing your own method of execution.

I talked to a Covenant Driver at a Pilot fuel island, and he asked me
"how do I like working for SNI?"
I said
"About as much you like working for Covenent"

He says..
"that f*cked up?"

I said
"They are all f*cked up in their own special way"

DO NOT RUN WITH SWIFT they TREAT there DRIVERS like crap Believe me I have to fight for my CDL now cause of them read my post and you'll see why

fireman932003 05-01-2007 10:40 AM

I have heard they like to micromanage their drivers. That is all second hand info though.
