Well I heard the day that USA Truck has posted another 4th quarter loss so who knows, maybe theyll recover, maybe not but something is not going right with them.

If you want company paid training go Schneider , if you want flatbedding , try Maverick or TMC. Though I believe TMC requires you to be licensed first, but that was a while ago.

Thats crazy they would be posting losses like that...they run pretty basic bare bones equipment and seem to always be moving....Probably hauling that freight for way to cheap or something.

Accourding to the financial reports the reason for such a big loss was too many empty trucks and not enough freight coupled with higher operating costs because of fuel prices.

My uncle just started with them about a month ago, he loves it so far. They keep him moving, and they get him home when he needs to.

Here is the thing.....for the short term....bad financials will seem like a good thing for the driver. Too many empty trucks will equate temporarly to more miles for the driver. However long term a company in financial trouble will eventually spell disaster for the driver. Example....USA trucks reported in their financial reports that one of the reason for the huge loss was operating costs. Driver pay is part of those operating costs.
The simple fact is that obviously changes are going to have to be made at USA. What those changes will be is yet to be seen.
Also a company in the red that bad isnt going to be a good long term carreer. Cant make any money on that stock.
Interesting side note. USA truck is one of our main competitors and their office isnt too far from ours. When they announced such a bad loss, we had meetings over here talking about how bad they are doing and how well we are doing. Thats pretty bad when you do so horrible your competitor has meetings about it to celebrate...

So basically what your saying is right now would not be a good time to jump into there company paid training. when push comes to shove i'll probably be the first one to get screwed.

CALL THEM FOR PETE'S SAKE!!!

Why are people afraid to call the damn companies themselves and ask someone who HIRES DRIVERS at that company instead of playing "go fish" on an internet discussion board????
