Newbie trucker questions ,
Hey hows it going everybody this is my first post on this forum. Let me introduce myself. My name is Anthony and I plan on obtaining my CDL A license next month. My plan is to go OTR as a team with a good friend that already has his cdl license.Im a hard, respectful, honest worker with big goals in mind in the trucking industry. I want to hit the road hard and run run run! My main goal is to earn enough money where i can be an O/O.
so my questions are -What companies do you guys/gals recommend for a team that wants to put in work -what should i look for when reviewing companies -How many miles should a team average a week -what company pays the highest for otr teams I was thinking about team trucking for werner because according to their website potential earnings for a team is 100,000-150,000 . Can this be obtained at werner the first year of driving for them, or are they just blowing smoke, feel free to add any other tips, thank you in advance for all the replies |

Please feel free to do a search on these forums (or any others for that matter) for Werner. You will get less than a comfortable feeling about them. I ran solo flatbed for Werner when I started out, it is not a good place to be a driver and make money (yes I knew alot of team drivers there as well). They have high turnover for a reason. In general I would say stay away from high turnover newbie companies (Swift, Werner, Schneider, JB Hunt etc.). Check safety ratings and do alot of searching before you sign on. I am now a solo O/O so I cannot give a current opinion on good team companies. With your partner's exp. you will have more options than the newbie companies. Best of luck. |

EASY MONEY. If you hook two tractors together, you ought to be able to earn over $5,000,000 a year. Watch out Donald Trump, I is a-truckin' for Werner! |
500 miles per day X 6 = 3,000/wk X 52 weeks = 156,000 miles X .32(?) =$49,920/yr. Adjust accordingly. (breakdowns, loading, unloading, waiting, etc.). But on the bright side, maybe additional pay (multiple stop, un/loading, tarping, etc.) I think 50k is optomistic, but maybe attainable.
